DOIT Introduces Results Tracking Website for the 2009 Fubon Taipei Marathon
The 2009 Fubon Taipei Marathon will kick off at the Civic Plaza on December 20. To provide spectators around the world immediate access to race results, the Department of Information Technology (DOIT) has established a website to track results, offering users the latest updates throughout the race.
The refurbished Taipei Marathon Information and Results Finder will be an updated version of the system from last year. In addition to tracking marathon results, the results finder also allows users to print the record for three categories (the record of the 3 km Fun Run will not be available for printing). By acquiring the results immediately through the system, athletes will not have to wait for the official notice to be delivered to their mailbox.
To promote the service, the city government announced that the public will be able to access the website with their PDA, cell phone, or other portable device via the WIFLY network on the day of the marathon – free of charge!
According to the organizer, this year’s marathon offers five major courses: the standard marathon (42 km), the half-marathon (21 km), the 10 km run, the kids run, and the Fubon Fun Run (3 km).
