2009 Taipei Shopping Festival: Let's Go Shopping!
2009 is a significan year for Taipei; in addition to being the first city in Asia to hold the Deaflympics Games, we have also successfully displayed an array of delicious delicacies and enchanting cuisines to the world at the Taipei international Food Festival in mid July.
Moreover, the next major international activity to take place in the city – scheduled for 2010 – will be the TAIPEI INTL FLORA EXPO.
Therefore, to build up anticipation for the flower expo, the 2009 Taipei Shopping Festival will integrate the theme of flowers and plants in its activities and related promotions, preparing shoppers and residents alike for the grand show next year.
In recent years, Taipei City has rapidly evolved into a major player in the global competition scene thanks to its outstanding planning ability, creating unique activities with high commercial values such as the Taipei International Beef Noodle Festival, Taipei Cafe Festival, Taipei International Fashion Show, and Taipei Shopping Festival.
The series of festivals and events – taking place since the beginning of the year – focus upon the necessities of daily life, spotlighting seven business areas in Taipei including “combined retail,” “food products and restaurants,” “fashion industry,” “creative lifestyle,” “tasteful lifestyle,” “entertainment and culture,” and “Taipei travel fun.”
Introducing over 3,000 high quality shops in Taipei for both residents and visitors, we wholeheartedly invite you to experience firsthand the pleasure and convenience offered by these ‘gems’ among shopping venues.
During the three-month period of the 2009 Taipei Shopping Festival, we combine fashion, digital, classical, traditional and modern elements in numerous activities and events, holding a joint exhibition featuring the creations by famous Chinese designers alongside fine products manufactured in Taiwan.
In addition, the original works and products spotlighted at the Joint Exhibition will be made available to the public at online stores following the event. This will allow more people to appreciate the commercial potentials of up-and-coming fashion designs.
Roads will be closed in the vicinity near Bade Commercial District and Guanghua Digital Plaza during the weekends of October for street sales, giving shoppers and digital product funs great opportunities to hunt for bargains.
The 2009 Taipei Shopping Festival will let you experience the many different aspects of Taipei at the same time. We sincerely welcome everyone to come and enjoy the charms and festivities of this city while shopping to the fullest!
